ARRIVAL FIELD · CANON

How to Use Canon

A quiet orientation to what is held steady

You don’t come here to learn something new.

You come here to keep something from drifting.

The Canon exists so the Arrival Field can stay readable —
to you, and to itself — as it grows.

This section doesn’t advance practice.
It doesn’t deepen experience.
It doesn’t replace contact.

It holds the ground rules that prevent confusion once contact is real.

What Canon Is

Canon is the stabilizing layer of the Arrival Field.

It holds:
• how terms are used
• how sections relate
• how experience is named without becoming distorted

Canon exists so the Field can evolve without re-explaining itself every time.

It protects the system from:
• accidental hierarchy
• outcome-chasing
• misread advancement
• and language drift that turns lived contact into abstraction

Canon doesn’t create meaning.
It preserves coherence.

What Canon Is Not

Canon is not required reading.

It’s not something you move through in order.
It’s not something you “apply.”

Nothing here needs to be memorized.
Nothing here asks you to agree.

If you’re not confused, you don’t need Canon.

If you are confused — Canon is where the system slows things down and holds them still.

When People Use Canon

People usually come here when something like this happens:

• “I think I understand this — but I want to check my interpretation.”
• “This feels important, but I don’t want to misname it.”
• “I’m noticing continuity forming and want to make sure I’m not projecting.”
• “I want to use the system without accidentally turning it into a goal.”

Canon is where those questions land — without being turned into instructions.

How Canon Relates to the Rest of the Field

Canon does not sit “above” Fundamentals or Practice.

It sits beside them, quietly.

• Fundamentals help you recognize what you’re noticing.
• Practice helps you stay in contact cleanly.
• Canon keeps the language, structure, and assumptions stable so neither of those collapse into confusion over time.

Canon is reference — not direction.

You return to it when something needs clarification, not completion.

How to Use This Section

Read lightly.

Look for the one sentence that clarifies something you’re already touching.

If nothing resonates, leave.

Canon is doing its job when you don’t need to stay here long.
