Internal Transit System

Movement may already be occurring.

Once contact with what is here becomes available, movement within experience may become easier to recognize.

Attention may relocate. Sensation may rise, descend, spread, gather, narrow, or become quiet. The change may be clear, brief, subtle, or difficult to name.

Internal Transit is Arrival Field's name for movement becoming recognizable within contact. It offers a way to notice what is already moving while leaving its direction and pace intact.

Orientation, Not Control

Internal Transit offers orientation to movement already present. Your role is to tend the conditions of contact rather than manage the current itself.

Movement may become easier to recognize as attention steadies and accumulated internal load begins to settle. Meditation, breath or body awareness, quiet observation, walking, resting attention on natural pattern or texture, Reiki, energy work, and other inward practices can support clearer contact.

You can tend how you settle, where attention rests, how much experience you meet, and when you pause.

The Three Currents

Internal Transit uses three equal recognition relationships. Each offers descriptive orientation rather than a fixed stage, anatomy, or required sequence.

One current, several currents, or no clear current may be recognizable at a given moment.

Vertical

Movement may be noticed as rising, descending, gathering through the body, or changing depth.

It may be clear, subtle, brief, or difficult to locate. Vertical names a possible direction of recognition while leaving the movement's course open.

Lateral

Movement may spread, narrow, shift from side to side, move inward or outward, or change location across experience.

Lateral names a possible direction of recognition. Its path may be uneven, partial, or brief.

Stillness

Movement may become quieter, pause, lose emphasis, or release its request for attention.

Stillness is included as a Transit relationship: movement may quiet while remaining part of the larger experience.

The Three Currents form a recognition map for describing what becomes available.

What May Be Changing

Internal Transit uses several kinds of language carefully. These forms may relate while retaining distinct meanings.

Sensation

A feeling may change location, intensity, temperature, pressure, texture, or shape. This describes what may be felt while leaving its cause open.

Attention

Focus may move toward, away from, or across part of experience. Attention may follow a change and make its relationship to experience easier to recognize.

Awareness

Awareness is the larger capacity in which sensation, attention, thought, emotion, and stillness may become recognizable. Within Internal Transit, awareness holds the experience while sensation and attention provide more specific descriptions.

Use whichever language helps you locate the experience while leaving room for what remains uncertain.

Meeting Transit

Begin with what is available now.

Settle through a form of inward attention that works for you.

Notice sensation, attention, energy, pressure, atmosphere, or stillness.

Let direction describe what you recognize: rising, descending, spreading, gathering, moving across, or becoming quiet.

Meet the amount that remains clear and workable.

Soften, widen attention, or finish when the experience feels complete.

Internal Transit offers orientation while leaving the amount of contact with you. Familiarity may make movement easier to recognize and describe, and you remain free to shift contact or finish at any point.

Field Notes · Note 21

When I Realized Recognition Could Be Practiced

“The experience didn't need to become dramatically stronger. I simply knew it better.”

Jason's lived account distinguishes increased recognition from increased intensity and shows how familiarity can give an experience greater resolution.

From Transit to Thresholds

Internal Transit helps you recognize what is moving. Thresholds help you recognize how much of that movement can be met clearly.

The inward work you do—settling attention, meeting internal material, developing familiarity, and respecting present capacity—can change the conditions available at the Threshold.

You may continue there when that relationship becomes useful.

Movement Can Be Met as It Is

Internal Transit gives language to movement that may already be happening. Recognition can be clear, partial, brief, or quiet, and it can remain complete at the level of contact available now.

You may enter the Field, return to the Essential Map, or continue into Thresholds to understand how present capacity shapes what can be met.

You may also stop here. Recognition is enough.
