Root Lock

A place for contact to gather

Root Lock is one of five named Field Forms. It offers a position for your hands that can accompany what you are already noticing before entering a Drawer, or whenever the Form feels useful in your practice.

See the Form

The image shows hands resting together in a rounded, interlaced hold. It illustrates the position; the light around the hands does not depict something you need to see or feel.

Find the Position

Interlace your fingers into a comfortable rounded hold and rest your hands in your lap.

Let the contact at the padding beneath your knuckles be available alongside what you are already noticing. If you are exploring Root Lock on its own, you may notice the feeling tone within the hold. Continue when you are ready. You may ease or separate your hands at any time.

If interlacing your fingers is uncomfortable or unavailable, let your hands rest together in a way that is comfortable, or notice a point of support without making the gesture.

Staying With Contact

For me, Root Lock became associated with support, containment, and a relationship with the lower body. Your experience may be different or difficult to name.

The Form can be a brief point of contact. Nothing needs to begin, strengthen, or resolve while you hold it. If the position causes pain, numbness, dizziness, distress, fatigue, or strain, ease it or let your hands rest.

If you came through Root and Rooting, Self-Healing & Alignment is the paired Drawer. You may enter it with the Form still present, let your hands rest first, or finish here.

You may also close the page. Nothing needs to be carried forward.
